When Traditional Home magazine made a Dallas showhouse debut this past summer, Troy Rhone was excited to be part of the team of 27 designers to create a modern Mediterranean-style home showcase. The home benefited the Alzheimer’s Association of Dallas and Houston. It was a very personal project for builder Paul Moss of the Marina Bay Development Corp. since both of his parents succumbed to the disease. An Artful Mix of Nature & Antiques
One very important step in the garden design process is selecting vintage and antique pieces—either family heirlooms or elements selected by Troy—since they hold strong meaning and personal value. “These elements bring history into the garden,” Troy states. “They instill a feeling that you’re not going to get from something store-bought and mass-manufactured. They give you a personal touch that you couldn’t get otherwise.”
